Status Indicators

The offerings of Classical Midi With Words vary in the ways that they were created and are presented. These methods are fluid, but indicators at the link names will give some indication of the status of the pieces. A code system indicating which sequencer and which sound module is favored will come in due course. For now it is Cakewalk and Roland. All files are Midi.

Note: these codes are provisional, as this entire server is in a state of evolution and development. Don't get overly used to them until this message disappears.

Real-Time Pieces
- RR - Real Time - No staff view
- RRF - Real Time - Staff view added for Voca
- RSF - Real Time Accompaniment - Step time Vocal with staff view.
Step-Time Pieces
SSn - Step time throughout - Staff view
- 0 - Very raw and incomplete material (for further development)
- 1 - Raw and non-enhanced but defined
- 2 - Instrument Patches and volume balances included
- 3 - Tempi variation included
- 4 - Note lengths adjusted for more and less legato
- 5 - Individual note velocity adjustments
- 6 - Volume (Channel ?) contour attached - No offerings as yet
- 7 - Portamento values attached - No offerings as yet
- 8 - Special Sysex for sound modules - No offerings as yet

If the piece in question has other lyrics windows besides that which is used as the category language, we use these indicators (note: every piece has a line-by-line translation to English, unless otherwise specified):

Notes

Real-Time Pieces:

These pieces are primarily created by pianists, who first play the vocal line, and then accompany themselves on a piano track. The vocal line is given another patch and may have slight trimmings of the note lengths. Occasionally, a step-time vocal track will be entered to provide a presentable staff-view of that track. Normally this track is meant for viewing while the played track is for audio only. Note: the viewed track will not be in perfect sync with the audio.

Step-Time Pieces

Step-time pieces lack musicality in their raw state. They can, however, be shaped and enhanced to overcome this and there are many degees of enhancement. These enhancements might be added sporadically over a perion of time.
