Wär' ich Arme, ach! ein frisches Bächlein,
Wüßte wohl, wo ich entspringen möchte!
An der Sawa, an dem kühlen Strome,
Wo vorbeiziehn die Getreideschiffe.
Daß ich meinen süßen Lieben sähe:
Ob noch blüht die Ros' am Steuerruder,
In der Hand die Nelk' ihm schon verwelkte!
Alles, was ich, ach! am Samstag pflückte,
Sonntags gab ich's, daß den Freund es schmückte!
