Kot
Language:
Polish
Na małej wysepce, na oceanie, dalekim,
mieszka mądry biały kot, co się pokłócił z człowiekiem;
mewa mu śpiewa,
a on na słońce poziewa;
morze mu szumi,
a on wszystko rozumie,
i wychodzi codzień daleko nad wodę, po długim koralowym pomoście,
patrzeć, wyczekiwać, czy nie jadą, nie płyną, nie lecą
nieznajomi, wędrujący goście.

Wise cat
Language:
English
On a small island in a far-away ocean,
lives a wise cat who had quarreled with man;
a seagull sings for him,
as he yawns in the sun;
the sea murmurs to him,
and he understands all.
Every day he walks far out along the pier of coral
expecting the arrival, by sea or air,
of long awaited guests.
