When youth's sprightly flood

Language: English

When youth's sprightly flood,
Roll'd high in my blood,
This heart never sank at a foe.
With true British pride
I've oftentimes tried
The falchion instead of the plough.
Then Britain was glorious,
And always victorious.

And Britain still bears,
Swains fit for her wars,
Whose hearts glow with liberty's fire.
My girls throw away
Your fears for today
For beauty can valour inspire.
Till Britain is glorious,
And once more victorious.
