Dear friends, we are turning 20 next year! Two years ago, 0.01% of all visitors made a donation. Last year, it was 0.02%. To all who have donated - a very warm thank you! Your generosity inspires me every day to keep going. Unfortunately, the current situation is not sustainable. Even if only 0.5% of visitors could make a donation, we could continue indefinitely - so please donate today and help keep this resource freely-available to all.    ---Emily Ezust, Founder

Den raske Ungdom

Language: Danish (Dansk)

Den raske Ungdom tog et Spring
og satte over Vandet,
brød sig en Blomst, snart her, snart hist,
forlod den med et Suk tilsidst
og drog sin Vej af Landet.

Det led paa Tiden, og der drog
en Vandrer ind i Landet;
og dér, hvor Strømmen flød i Ro
mod Solens Guldglød, hviled To
hver paa sin Bred af Vandet.

Hun hviled her, han hviled hist,
imellem dem laa Vandet;
og hun var bleg, og han var graa,
og begge stirrende de saa'
hvor Aftnen faldt paa Landet.

Da voved han sit Ungdoms Spring
fra før han drog af Landet;
og op han drev paa Sandets Grund,
dér kyssed hun den blege Mund
mens Natten faldt paa Vandet.

Gentle Reminder
This is a personal project that I began in 1995. I receive no salary for my full-time work on it, and aside from ad revenue and copyright fees, the Archive was supported financially last year by fewer than 0.02% of our visitors. So if you found the information here useful, please consider making a donation. Your gift is greatly appreciated.
