Bright cap and streamers
Language:
English
Bright cap and streamers,
He sings in the hollow:
Come follow, come follow,
All you that love.
Leave dreams to the dreamers
That will not after,
That song and laughter
Do nothing move.
With ribbons streaming
He sings the bolder;
In troop at his shoulder
The wild bees hum.
And the time of dreaming
Dreams is over--
As lover to lover,
Sweetheart, I come.

Casquette brillante et serpentins
Language:
French
Casquette brillante et serpentins,
Il chante dans le creux :
Venez à sa suite, venez à sa suite,
Vous tous qui aimez.
Laissez les rêves aux rêveurs
Qui ne suivront pas,
Que chant et rire
N'émeuvent en rien.
Avec les rubans flottants
Il chante plus hardiment ;
En troupe à son épaule
Les abeilles sauvages bourdonnent.
Et le temps de rêver
Des rêves est terminé --
Amant vers amante,
Bien-aimée, j'arrive.
