Eh mein Herz erkrankt,
Hab ich hell gesungen,
Alle Saiten sind,
Laute, Dir gesprungen.

Keine Harmonie 
Will ihr mehr enttönen,
Vom gewohnten Klang 
Mußt ich mich entwöhnen.

Heiße Thränenfluth 
Fällt auf stumme Saiten,
Trotz und heißer Kampf
Mir im Herzen streiten.

Weinend steh ich auf,
Leg mich weinend nieder -- 
Todt ist mir die Welt
Todt auch meine Lieder.
