So kamst du leis in meinen Traum geschritten,
Als wärst du aus des Mondes seidensanftem Licht
An seinem Strahl zu mir herabgeglitten
Und schwebtest aufgetan und ohne Erdgewicht
Ihm wieder zu auf mir verwehrten Bahnen,
Und Schleier hüllten dich vor meinem Blick,
Und wie im Wachen durft ich dich nur ahnen.
Dann warst du fort.  Die Sehnsucht blieb zurück.
