Von schön Sicilien war mein Traum

Language: German

Von schön Sicilien war mein Traum,
in Blüthen strahlt der Hag!
Wir sassen unter'm Citronenbaum
und kosten Tag für Tag.

Erwachend umgab mich des Nordens Land,
ein einsam Grab lag dort am Meer,
der Sturmwind rüttelt das Epheuband
das einst ich geflochten lange her!

Gentle Reminder
This is a personal project that I began in 1995. I receive no salary for my full-time work on it, and aside from ad revenue and copyright fees, the Archive is supported financially by fewer than 0.02% of our visitors. I dream'd I was in Sicily

Language: English

I dream'd I was in Sicily
All sky and hills and flowers
We sat us under a citron tree
And courtes hours and hours.

I woke in the dunes of a bleak northland,
Along a lonely grave in the snow,
The salt wind rattled the ivy band
I'd tied at the headstone long ago.
