That hour shall blest indeed be,
In which I first did meet thee,
If to thy inmost heart
This love doth joy impart
As dew to flow'rs my sweet be!

That hour with curse be fraught,
In which thy heart I sought,
If I, in love bestowing,
Instead of gladness knowing,
A bitter grief have bought!
