Wer riete, dass ein Lüftchen hat
Erregt ein Stürmen und Sausen,

Ein Gähren und ein Brausen?
Das nächtlich kam und nächtlich ging,
Die Forste zu durchwühlen,
Das sich in meiner heissen Brust
Nicht legen will und kühlen.
Ich seh' die Bäume des Morgens an,
Wie steht ihr so ruhig da draussen!
Euch ward nicht Liebe angetan,
Sonst müsstet ihr selig brausen!
