Konnt mich auch sonst mit schwingen
Übers grüne Revier,
Hatt ein Herze zum Singen
Und Flügel wie ihr.
Flog über die Felder,
Da blüht es wie Schnee,
Und herauf durch die Wälder
[Spiegelt]1 die See.
Ein Schiff sah ich gehen
Fort über das Meer,
Meinen Liebsten drin stehen, -
Dacht meiner nicht mehr.
Und die Segel verzogen,
Und es dämmert das Feld,
Und ich hab mich verflogen
In der weiten, weiten Welt.
