Ich möcht ihr Bildniß malen

Mit Rosenglut die Wangen
  Mit Nelkenduft den Mund; 
Denn roth ist ihre Farbe
  Und roth ist meine Lieb,
Die sie mit Rosendornen 
  Mir tief in Herze schrieb.

Ich möcht eine Becher leeren
  Voll dunklem Traubenblut 
Und Erd und Himmel stürzen
  Hinab in heißer Flut; --
Denn, ach, ihr schönes Auge, 
  Ist treulos, wenn es grüßt,
Und falsch die süße Lippe, 
  Wie heiß sie immer küßt.
