Kein Vöglein ist's mit Flügelzier,
flog doch aus weiter Fern' zu dir,

Kein Blümlein ist's ganz sicherlich
und hat doch holden Duft für dich.
Wie Federn leicht, so kommt's daher
und ist doch gar so inhaltsschwer,
nun rath' einmal, was kann das sein?
Ein schwarz' Geheimniß schließt es ein,
kann nur durch dich gelöset sein,
hat keinen Mund und dennoch spricht's,
und lieb'res giebt's auf Erden nichts.
Schwesterlein, halt' ein, halt' ein!
Das kann nur ein Brief vom Liebsten sein!
