Ich wollt' dir immer sagen,
Was innig mich beglückt,
Und meinen Schmerz dir klagen,
Der meine Seele drückt.

Doch glaubt' ich, dich betrübe
Mein ungeschicktes Wort
Und schweigend wuchs die Liebe
Mit meinen Schmerzen fort.

Betrübt dich nun mein Schweigen?
