Es duften die Blüten...

Language: German (Deutsch)

Es beugen die Kletterrosen
sich  über den Gartenzaun;
Blaumeisen flüstern und kosen,
sie wollen ein Nest erbau'n.
Es zieht ein kühlendes Wehen
Vom silberglänzenden Meer,
hinauf zu Gärten und Höhen.
Es duften die Blüten so schwer.
Geringelt auf kahlem Steine,
liegt eine Natter und äugt,
nach dem Paare im Rosenhaine,
das Halme zum Neste beugt.
Ich schaue dies Bild und meine,
zu seh'n vergiftetes Glück,
die blühenden Rosenhaine
und jenen Schlangenblick!

Gentle Reminder
This is a personal project that I began in 1995. I receive no salary for my full-time work on it, and aside from ad revenue and copyright fees, the Archive was supported financially last year by about 0.03% of our visitors.
