Bächlein hüpft ins Tal hinein
Welch ein lustig Springen!
Über Stock und über Stein
Rauschend sich zu schwingen!
Wo die blanke Mühle steht,
Führt kein Weg vorüber;
Bächlein spricht ein Stoßgebet,
Stürzt wie toll kopfüber.
Wie sich brausend dreht das Rad,
Lacht der Müller heiter;
Bächlein wandert seinen Pfad
Weit und immer weiter;
Endlich winkt ihm süße Rast,
Müde geht es schlafen,
Wo ein Schiff mit stolzem Mast
Träumend ruht im Hafen.
