Nun, kleine Maria, halt fein still,
weil die heilige Anna dich schmücken will,
sie hat dir ein neues Gewändlein gemacht,

Und fern schon sieht sie hell und rein
Deinen großen goldigen Glorienschein.
 
Nun darfst du über di Wiese gehn,
wo die Maßlieb und Vergißmeinnicht stehn,
dort ruft ein Knabe und winkt mit der Hand,
Joseph aus Galiläaland!
Nun mögt ihr spielen von früh bis spät,
denn die Kindheit flieht, und das Glück verweht!
 
Nun, kleine Maria, bist du müd,
ein Amsel singt ihr träumerisch Lied,
Hand in Hand, so geht ihr nach Haus,
Mutter Anna lugt schon mach euch aus.
Die Sterne kommen. Die Träume sind nah, 
fern durch die Nacht ragt Golgatha.
