Herbstnächtliche Wolken, sie wanken und zieh'n
Gleich fieberisch träumenden Kranken dahin;
Auf Bergwald und Seele die Düsternis ruht,
Ob kalt sie auch Wind und Gedanken durchflieh'n.
Klar strahlend jedoch tritt hervor nun der Mond,
Und weithin die Nebel entschwanken um ihn;
Geh' auf auch im Herzen mir, lieblicher Stern,
Dem immer die Schatten noch sanken dahin!
