Ce fut un matin de printemps
qu'elle m'apparut souriante,
L'idylle dura si longtemps,
Que nous voulûmes par instants
Y broder quelque variante.
De sorte qu'un beau soir d'été,
Où la lune était endormie
Dans un coin du parc abrité
Je pris le baiser souhaité
Sur les lèvres de mon amie.
Et que pour moins que cela
Le coeur bien souvent se cantonne,
L'histoire ne s'en tint pas là.
Et je crois bien qu'il s'y mêla
Quelque peu d'amour en automne..
Après le temps qui nous fut cher,
Voici venir les jours moroses!
Qu'importe! Demain vaut hier !
Nous ,nous aimerons cet hiver,
peut-être mieux qu'au temps des roses!
