Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee,
when my heart is overwhelmed:
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For mine iniquities are gone over mine head:
as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me;
my heart within me is desolate.
But I will hope continually,
and will yet praise thee more and more.
For thou art my hope, O Lord God:
thou art my trust from my youth.
I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
For thou art my rock and my fortress;
therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Note: stanza 1 is from Psalm 61: 1-2; stanza 2 is from Psalm 38:4 and Psalm 143:4; stanza 3 is from Psalm 71:14 and 5; and stanza 4 is from Psalm 18:1 and Psalm 31:3
