einst zierte, welk nun und verlassen,
dir hat den schönen Schmuck entwandt
des rauhen Herbstes grausam Hassen.
Ach! uns erwartet gleiches Loos,
wir zittern vor denselben Wettern:
All' unsre Freuden wird ihr Stoß
wie deine Blüthenpracht entblättern.
Im Herzen tödtet jeder Tag
uns einen Wunsch, ein süß Genießen,
und jede Stunde läßt uns ach!
viel süße Träum' in Nichts zerfließen.
Wie schön ihr Stern am Himmel steht
Die Hoffnung selber muß verschweben,
und keiner weiß, was eh'r vergeht:
ein Blümlein oder unser Leben.
