Les Dieux puissants, vaincus par le Dieu pathétique,
Après mille ans d'Olympe avaient quitté la terre
Et la Sirynx pleurait dans Tempé solitaire...
Sur la mer en émoi vres l'orient mystique
Une aube se levait... Pleins de souffles étranges
Les chênes remuaient des branches prophétiques
Et les grands lys élus versaient leurs blancs calices
Aux lacs sanctifiés visités parles anges...
Le ciel était plus doux qu'un col de tourterelle
Rêveuse, en longs cheveux, une nymphe frêle
Tressait de pâles fleurs autour d'une amulette
Et près d'elle, dans le crépuscule idyllique
Un petit faune triste aux yeux de violette,
Disait sur un roseau son coeur mélancolique...
Et c'était le dernier amour du soir antique...
