The Lied and Art Song Texts Page

By dimpled brook

Language: English

By dimpled Brook, and Fountain brim,
The Wood-Nymphs deckt with Daisies trim,
Their merry wakes and pastimes keep:
What hath night to do with sleep?

Night has other joys in store,
 skies with jewels studded o'er
 Tuneful voices, twinkling feet,
The cheering cup and converse sweet.
